News from world's first football club Sheffield FC
This page writes about football, but, not with its news side, but, with its historicity, if it wasn't for Sheffield FC, football wouldn't exist as we know it now, before the team there were various versions of it in our planet, but none were quite like it. We consider it our duty as Sports via History FC, to convey the news of the team, thank you.
As we wrote here, Ryan Cresswell, after three years on the team's bench, left and moved to Matlock Towns (Northern Premier League Premier Division side, one level above Sheffield), his place was taken by 35-year-old Jamie Yates, who has been assistant coach since 2022 at the "Club", while his assistant will be the 37-year-old legend of the team Marc Newsham. Yates is also an active footballer with the club so we expect to see him on the pitch as well, having been manager of Matlock Town in the 2016-17 season!
Yesterday (17/9), the FA Trophy First Qualifying Round match against Loughborough Students was replayed due to the use of an ineligible player as we wrote here. In the first match the "Club" suffered a 1-0 defeat, although it had the opportunity to continue in the institution, it suffered a 2-3 defeat again, the scorers were Connor Cutts (36') and Reece Fielding (90' ) and both matches took place at the Home of Football.
Sheffield FC:
Wright, Greenhouse (85’ Slew), Coleman, Cribley, Fielding ©, Beatson, Greaves (75’ Dolman), Cutts, Aldrich. Watson, Modest (75’ Smith).
And, the team will soon present the new 3rd Kit, from the few we have seen on the social media pages, white and gold will dominate.
